Hundreds of spectators gathered Sunday, Dec. 5, to wave and cheer on participants in Gastonia's Christmas in the City parade.

The parade began at 4 p.m. along Main Avenue and Chester Street and ended at Main Avenue and Broad Street.

Some of the participants in the parade included Girl Scouts, Mayor Walker Reid, Gastonia law enforcement and more.

The city of Gastonia also hosted holiday-themed activities after the parade including the annual Christmas tree lighting and shopping with local vendors at the Rotary Pavilion.
