Gastonia Police investigate homicide after man found shot to death outside store

Gastonia Police found a man dead of apparent gunshot wounds just before 5 p.m. Thursday outside the S&K Express convenience store.

Police were called to 549 N. Chester St. at 4:49 p.m. When officers arrived they found the man already dead, according to Gastonia Police.

Police report they have no suspect information and have classified the death as a homicide.

Police closed southbound lanes on North Chester Street at Davidson Avenue in the Highland community for a period of time, but at least one lane of traffic has re-opened.
