Anchor Investments bought the Dixie Village shopping center at 2587 W. Franklin Blvd., located west of South Myrtle School Road and the strip mall area that includes WoW Supermarket and Big Lots. The strip mall is located on the opposite side of the west Gastonia Walmart store. Anchor Investments, with its headquarters in Nashville, plans to renovate the property, then rent out the vacant storefronts, said company president Micah Lacher.

"This is what our company does is, we renovate shopping centers across the country," Lacher said. "So we'll come in and add new roofs, new landscaping, repaint the property, and we'll add tenants to the vacancies."

Right now the shopping center has both space for smaller shops and more spacious storefronts where larger local businesses or national companies can open up. Right now, Anchor Investments is in talks about putting an exercise facility and a hardware store in the shopping center, "but there's no guarantees that it'll work out," as nobody has yet signed a lease, Lacher said.

The shopping center is the first that Anchor Investments has purchased in the Charlotte area. Mason Properties sold the property to them for $6.725 million.

"We're super excited. I've been in Gastonia during this whole process. It's a great town," Lacher said. "I'm excited about what's all going on there. I believe the future is bright. We're excited to be on the market."
