Gatlinburg SkyBridge Park’s New Scenic Trail Set to Open Just in Time for Fall Foliage
The "SkyTrail" connects both sides of the SkyBridge for unparalleled views of the Gatlinburg attraction.
Attention leaf peepers: Gatlinburg SkyBridge Park is adding a new scenic trail just in time for fall.
The "SkyTrail" is a 0.3-mile walkway along the contours of Crockett Mountain. The latest addition to the Gatlinburg attraction connects both sides of the SkyBridge, creating an opportunity for adults and kids alike to experience the longest pedestrian-only suspension bridge in North America from an exciting new angle.
“From the trail you'll have great views of the world-famous SkyBridge and be able to fully appreciate the length and height of the bridge, with the Great Smoky Mountains towering in the distance,” the park’s website reads.
The trail, which consists of a wooden boardwalk on the east side and a paved pathway on the west side, can be walked in either direction.
The SkyTrail is set to open to the public in the coming weeks. At some point this fall it will be expanded include covered rest areas with interpretive signage to learn more about the SkyBridge, SkyLift, and wildfires that ravaged the area in 2016.
