Gators News: Soccer and volleyball on tap tonight
The weekend is almost here which means Gators sports are ramping up the action ahead of football’s meeting with the Tennessee Volunteers in the Swamp on Saturday. Today, we have two teams on tap who are getting a head start on the end-of-the-week action, both of whom are defending their home turf. Here is a look at the latest from the wonderful world of Florida athletics.
Soccer
https://twitter.com/GatorsSoccer/status/1441029834407297026 The soccer team returns to the pitch tonight to host the Kentucky Wildcats at Donald R. Dizney Stadium to open up the SEC home schedule. Florida (1-5-3) enters the match having tied its previous pair of opponents in double overtime, 0-0, and have scored just a single win on the season while Kentucky (6-2-2) carries a much better mark into Thursday night's affair. First draw is slated for 6:30 p.m. EDT and while it will not be broadcast in video the action can be heard on GatorVision.
Volleyball
https://twitter.com/GatorsVB/status/1440737667981905921 The No. 17 volleyball team also returns to action tonight when it opens up a two-game weekend series with the Mississippi State Bulldogs at home. The Gators have never lost to MSU, owning a jaw-dropping 52-0 record all-time, including a 43-0 record under coach Mary Wise. First serve for the opening game is scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT in the O'Connell Center and can be watched on the SEC Network+ as well as heard on FloridaGators.com/watch.
