Gators News: Women’s golf maintain position at The Ally

Welcome to a Wednesday edition of Gators News and for this slow midweek update, we have only the women’s golf team to report on which has excelled so far in competition thanks to a career day from one of its student-athletes. Otherwise, the Gator Nation waits with bated breath for the upcoming gridiron game against the Georgia Bulldogs in Jacksonville on Saturday. But for now, here is the latest from around the Swamp.

Women's golf

The No. 3 women’s golf team continued to perform well on its second day at The Ally, finishing nine strokes under par as a team to maintain its score and second-place position from the first day of play. Sophomore Maisie Filler led the way with a career-best 9-under while two others also finished under par. The Lady Gators are four strokes behind the first-place Alabama Crimson Tide and hold a five-stroke lead over the Mississippi State Bulldogs entering the final day, which tees off at 8:30 a.m. EDT.
