Gators News: Women’s tennis sends six to the ITA Regional Championships

The weekend is drawing near as the Gators get set for its noontime matchup with the LSU Tigers on Saturday. With a couple of days left before game time, the women’s tennis team starts off its action early at the ITA Regional Championships in Lake Nona as Florida sports gets ramped up. Here is a look at what is happening around the Gator Nation.

The women’s tennis team sends six of its student-athletes to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southeast Regional Championships, hosted by the Central Florida Knights starting on Thursday. The six Gators will compete in the main draw of the championships, including Sydney Berlin, Carly Briggs, Alicia Dudeney, Emma Shelton, Bente Spee and Marlee Zein, which runs from Oct. 14 to Oct. 18. First serve today comes at 9:45 a.m. EDT from Lake Nona, Florida.
