Gayle King has a few words for “Good Morning America.”

The “CBS This Morning” co-host offered her take on the scandal that is “GMA3″ co-anchors Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ romance, which came to light last week and is now under investigation at ABC, having overtaken headlines ever since.

“It’s just gotten very messy and very sloppy,” King, 67, told “Watch What Happens Live” of the “interesting” situation.

Noting that she was supportive of the morning show’s initial decision to keep the “best friends” on the air — though both Robach, 49, and Holmes, 45, have since been pulled.

“In the beginning I actually thought, ‘Good on “Good Morning America.” They’re saying they’re not taking them off the air. It’s two consenting adults,’” King said on Thursday. “But then the more you read, it’s just very messy.”

Robach and Holmes, who colleagues previously suspected to be engaged in an affair, ended their marriages to “Melrose Place” star Andrew Shue and lawyer Marilee Fiebig, respectively “in August within weeks of each other,” a source told People after news of the romance broke.

Their love story didn’t start until after the splits, claimed the insider, noting the two are “very comfortable dating in the open.”

Even so, Shue quickly appeared to scrub all photographic evidence of Robach from his Instagram. An insider later told the outlet that Robach and Shue “went to [divorce] mediation” and were “about ready to settle their divorce” ahead of her and Holmes’ relationship making headlines.
