Gazette rolling out new comics pages for daily and Sundays

Did you pick up your Sunday paper this morning, or log into your eNewspaper and immediately go to the comics section to start your day off on a good note?

If you did, you probably aren't alone.

Comics have been a mainstay in newspapers and that isn't changing, But the media business has always been about evolution, and change is coming to your daily and Sunday comics beginning Oct. 2.

The Chillicothe Gazette is transitioning our comics pages as part of a company-wide initiative across the USA TODAY Network.

Currently, the non-Sunday editions feature Family Circus, Dennis the Menace, Ziggy, Close to Home, Blondie, Crankshaft, Beetle Bailey, Zits, For Better or Worse, Born Loser, Garfield, Carpe Diem, Classic Peanuts, Crabgrass, Hagar the Horrible, Arlo & Janis, Baby Blues and Hi and Lois.

Going forward, those editions will now have Blondie, Zits, Beetle Bailey, Family Circus, Hagar, Dennis the Menace, Garfield, Peanuts, For Better or Worse, Baby Blues, Pickles, Pearls Before Swine, Jump Start, Ziggy, Marmaduke, Non Sequitur and Crabgrass.

In your Sunday editions, you currently get Peanuts, Blondie, Marmaduke, Rose is Rose, Shoe, Born Lower, Hagar the Horrible, Crabgrass, Bound & Gagged, Frank & Ernest, B.C., Arlo & Janis, Ziggy, Garfield, Family Circus, Mother Goose and Grimm, Doonesbury, Nancy, For Better or for Worse, Foxtrot and Beetle Bailey.

Sundays will now have Crankshaft, Luann, Baldo, Frank & Ernest, Born Loser, Blondie, Zits, Beetle Bailey, Family Circus, Hagar, Dennis the Menace, Garfield, Peanuts, For Better or Worse, Baby Blues, Pickles, Pearls Before Swine, Jump Start, Ziggy, Marmaduke, Non Sequitur and Crabgrass.

Comics are popular ― we understand that. Personally, I have always enjoyed Frank & Ernest (no, I wasn't part of the decision to keep them, but I am happy about it). Those guys make me laugh, I don't know why, they just do and hopefully, if one of your favorites is going away, you can find a new one to bring you joy (Seriously, check out Frank & Ernest).

Even more offerings will be available to our digital subscribers at chillicothegazette.com/comics.

Your subscription price is not affected by the change.
