Gazprom to finance propagandist bloggers

Gazprom will buy Insight People, an agency of Russian patriotic bloggers, for RUB 7 billion (approx. US$56 million).

The Insight People legal entity was registered in 2021. In 2022, its revenue amounted to RUB 14.2 billion (approx. US$113.6 million), net profit – RUB 2.1 billion (US$16,8 million).

As reported by Russian media, Insight People does not hide its pro-state views.

The agency's bloggers participate in propaganda videos. General producer Ilia Ivlev reported on his website that the agency "implements patriotic projects that are gaining millions of views".

The questionnaire for bloggers who want to sign a contract with Insight People asks candidates to indicate their political views. At the same time, the contract prohibits bloggers from joking and asking questions about politics.

Gazprom-Media has nine terrestrial TV channels in its portfolio, including NTV, TNT, TV-3, Match TV and Pyatnitsa! ("Friday!"); six internet platforms, including Rutube video hosting, Premier online cinema and Yappy vertical video app; more than a dozen productions and film distributors, including Central Partnership and 1-2-3 Production; nine radio stations, including Avtoradio, Like FM and Energy; publications Vokrug TV ("Around TV") and 7 Dney ("7 Days"); Gazprom-Media Sales house; and Oktiabr (October) Moscow cinema.
