GBI arrests two in Thomson homicide investigation

THOMSON, Ga. (WJBF) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged 23-year-okd Ra’Quan Reese of and 22-year-old Sherkendria Duggans of Thomson with Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault Charges in McDuffie County.

On February 11th, the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI to investigate the shooting death of 21-year-old Otekqueonna Williams of Thomson.

The investigation shows that during the early morning hours of Sunday, February 11th an argument took place between two groups of people in the 100 block of McCommons Street in Thomson.

At some point during the argument, people from both groups fired shots at the other group.

Williams and a woman were both shot.

Williams died at a local hospital and the woman was taken to a hospital in Augusta for treatment for her injuries. The investigation indicates that neither Williams nor the injured woman were involved in the argument.

Reese and Duggans are currently booked at the McDuffie County Jail.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
