Geauga County Department on Aging announces next Senior Trash Pick-Up Days
May 7—Geauga County Department on Aging has announced the next round of Senior Trash Pick-Up Days.
Participants will be asked to sign up and then have items outside their home on the following dates:
—Thompson Township's day is May 19. Cut-off day to sign up is May 11.
—Chardon Township's days are May 30 and 31. Cut-off day to sign up is May 23.
—Auburn Township's days are June 1 and 2. Cut-off day to sign up is May 25.
—Huntsburg Township's days are June 1 and 2. Cut-off day to sign up is May 25.
—Newbury Township's days are June 5, 6 and 7. Cut-off day to sign up is May 26.
To receive trash pick-up assistance, people must be 60 years of age or older, live in the village or township and be registered with the Department on Aging, according to a news release. So, first, register and complete the trash pick-up intake with the Department on Aging at 440-279-2130 by the cut-off date.
Crews cannot enter homes, the release state. All refuse items must be outside by garages, out buildings or in the driveway. Do not leave items by curbside.
