Geauga Park District to host scout-centric programming

Feb. 18—Geauga Park District announced that space remains for scout-centric programming to be hosted soon by Naturalist Karie Wheaton.

High School Scout Snowshoe, for grades 9-12, will take place 2:30 to 4 p.m., Feb. 25, at The West Woods, 9465 Kinsman Road in Russell Township. Attendees can discover a new way to enjoy the winter season by learning the basic use of snowshoes, which may meet some requirements for Girl Scouts' Snow Adventure or Boy Scouts' Snow Sports badges, according to a news release.

Scout Day: Cadette Girl Scouts "Trees Badge" will take place from 9 to 11 a.m., March 4, at Swine Creek Reservation, 16004 Hayes Road in Middlefield Township. Attendees will meet to cover requirements 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the Trees Legacy Badge. This event will be for both indoors and outdoors, so participants should dress for the weather.

Scout Day: Wolf Scouts "Call of the Wild Adventure" will then be held from noon to 2 p.m., March 4, at Swine Creek Reservation. Attendees will work on the Call of the Wild Adventure.This event also will be for both indoors and outdoors, so participants should dress for the weather.
