Geauga Park District's Maple Town Tune Traders set May, June performance dates
May 14—For 16 years, Geauga Park District's Maple Town Tune Traders have shared a variety of music at The West Woods Nature Center the fourth Thursday of each month.
Today's Tune Traders are a showcase of music — blues, country, classical, vintage pop, Celtic, traditional and modern folk music, and even a bit of rock — with participants playing, singing or simply enjoying as audience, according to a news release. All genres, instruments and skill levels are welcome.
This spring's scheduled sessions are May 25 and June 22. From 7 to 9:30 each of these nights, participating singers and musicians take turns, round-robin style, presenting tunes for others to join in, according to a news release.
Those who would like to participate as a musician or an audience member can register at www.geaugaparkdistrict.org or 440-286-9516.
For novice musicians, this format also provides chances to watch and learn, play along and hone skills with a supportive audience as the work up to a more polished level. And the released noted that for student musicians preparing for an upcoming recital or performance, Tune Traders provides a gentle, encouraging audience, with applause and praise guaranteed from people who celebrate young musicianship.
Admission is free.
