Gen. Ray Odierno, who helped Obama plan to withdraw from Iraq, dies at 67

Raymond Odierno, the retired United States Army general who helped President Obama develop the plan to withdraw U.S. combat forces from Iraq, has died after a battle with cancer. Former President Obama released a statement: “Today our military is stronger, and the world is safer thanks to Ray’s service, and for that I will always be grateful.”
