Quote: "There is a growing threat of missile and air strikes on our country from the territory of the Republic of Belarus. The aggressor has deployed a battery of Iskander-M mobile short-range ballistic missile systems in the Brest region, some 50 kilometres away from the Ukrainian state border."

Details: Units of the Belarusian Armed Forces continue to cover the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in the Brest and Gomel regions of Belarus, on the Volyn and Polissia fronts.

On the Siversk front, Russia continues to reinforce the positions of its troops on the Ukrainian-Russian border in Bryansk and Kursk regions of Russia in order to hinder the redeployment of Ukrainian troops on other fronts.

Russian troops are also reinforcing their positions near the international Pogar border checkpoint and the village of Sluchyovsk in the Bryansk region of Russia.

Background: On 24 April, Russia deployed Iskander-M mobile short-range ballistic missile systems 60km away from the Ukrainian border in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, on the Slobozhansk front.

Iskander is a group of operational-tactical, land-land ballistic missile complexes, which includes Iskander, Iskander-E, Iskander-K, and Iskander-M. Ballistic missiles launched from an Iskander-M complex can reach targets 500-700km away.

Self-declared President of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, claims that Belarus is not involved as an aggressor in the Russian war with Ukraine, despite the fact that since the beginning of the war, convoys of Russian military equipment have been entering Ukraine from Belarusian territory, and that Russia continues to launch missiles on Ukraine from Belarus.
