Genesee Brew House transforms beer garden into luau-themed oasis. See the pics!

The Genesee Brew House has transformed its ground-level outdoor patio into The Genesee Brew House Bungalow, a luau-themed oasis, complete with tiki hut-style decor, an abundance of plants and new hammock chairs.

Its bar serves the brewery's Ruby Red Kolsch along with its successor, Tropical Pineapple Kolsch, now in its second year. Another option is Captain's Mix, which was created when customers started mixing the two popular beers. Other brews are available on draft and in cans, as well as seltzers, cider and wines.

On weekends, it serves a luau-inspired menu, with many items infused with Tropical Pineapple Kolsch. The pineapple smash burger is flavored with pineapple Kolsch and topped with pepper jack cheese, pineapple chili aioli and grilled pineapple rings. Kalua Pork sliders include a pineapple Kolsch barbecue sauce and pineapple slaw. Meatballs are coated with a choice of pineapple sweet chili sauce or pineapple Kolsch barbecue sauce. Other options are shrimp pineapple kabobs, grapefruit salad and pineapple upside down cake.

Cornhole and jenga games are available, and the area has a stage for outdoor music on Wednesdays evenings and Sunday afternoons. A new mural depicting Genesee branded surfboards is made for selfies and posting on social media.

The transformation of the space will run from June 16 to July 16. Its hours will coincide with those of the Brew House: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

The beer garden is wheelchair accessible via a ramp from the brew house, or it can be entered directly from the parking lot via a gate. Seating is standard height patio tables and chairs.

The Genesee Brew House is at 25 Cataract St. Call (585) 263-9200.
