Geneva College hosts Special Olympics of PA bocce tournament

BEAVER FALLS – A Pittsburgh area championship for Special Olympics of Pennsylvania bocce players takes place Thursday at Geneva College.

The Three Rivers Region Regional Unified Bocce Tournament will showcase the top 10 indoor teams, which will compete for the regional championship and an opportunity to advance to the state-level championship.

Two teams (one regional champion and one state qualifier) will advance to the state championship at the GiantCenter in Hershey, Pa., on March 22-23.The March 9 tournament begins at 11 a.m. at Metheny Fieldhouse on the Geneva campus.

More than 100 athletes, partners, coaches and volunteers will participate representing the Three Rivers Region of Central Valley, Beaver Area, Grove City, Ellwood City (Lincoln), Bethel Park, South Park, Chartiers Valley, Gateway, Pine-Richland and Shaler Area school districts.
