GENEVA, IL — The city of Geneva has canceled its downtown trick-or-treating event due to the coronavirus, but residents can still enjoy some Halloween and fall festivities this year.
At least 50 businesses are set to participate in the city’s Autumn Fest, which is scheduled to run from 5-8 p.m. Friday. Participating businesses will put carved pumpkins in their windows or by their doors for the event’s self-guided Jack-O’-Lantern Walk.
Those who take the walk can vote for their favorite pumpkins at a fall-themed photo op that will be set up outside the Kane County Courthouse, located at 100 S. Third St. A map of all participating business will be made available for the Jack-O'-Lantern Walk.
Many Geneva businesses will be offering in-store specials, while restaurants will have food and drink specials. Autumn Fest will also feature a photo contest on Instagram.
