·4 min read

GENEVA, IL — A new year is right around the corner, and as Geneva residents are gearing up with resolutions and goals for 2022, several local establishments are preparing for New Year's Eve festivities.

Several venues, restaurants and bars in and around Geneva will host special celebrations — some include musical performances, while others include fine menus.

With COVID-19 on the rise thanks to the omicron variant, plans have the possibility to change, so guests are encouraged to call in advance or keep track of social media for last-minute updates.

Noon Year's Eve at Geneva Public Library District, 227 S. 7th St. in Geneva

From 11 a.m. to noon Friday, the library is hosting a drop-in event for all ages. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite party clothes to say goodbye to 2021 with selfies, dancing, games and crafts.

At 11:45 a.m., people will gather for a story and countdown to noon.

Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St. in St. Charles

Arcada is celebrating with its 95th-annual New Year's Eve party. Starting at 9 p.m. and lasting until 1 a.m., the event will feature Chicago's own Piano Man Band, a homage to Billy Joel and Elton John.

Tickets, which cost $49, will include party favors, a champagne toast at midnight, access to a cash bar and an open dance floor.

Chime and Stave, 40w188 Campton Crossings Drive in St. Charles

The restaurant is hosting a New Year's Eve bash starting at 5:30 p.m. and scheduled to run until 1 a.m. Available by reservation only, guests should call 630-549-6537 to reserve their seats.

Matt Shukin and The Ramblers will kick off their performance at 9:30 p.m. and lead guests into the new year with a champagne toast at midnight. Party people will also have the chance to enter a raffle for a chance to win two tickets to the next beer dinner, scheduled for Jan. 19 at Penrose Brewing.

The Comedy Vault, 18 E. Wilson St. in Batavia

Comedian Mike Kaplan, whose stage name is Myq Kaplan, is hosting several shows at The Comedy Vault Thursday through Saturday, including a late-night one starting at 9:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve. If Kaplan's name is familiar, it's likely because he has appeared on several late-night shows, including The Tonight Show, Conan, The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Seth Meyers.

As a 21-plus show, each guest will be required to purchase two drinks or food items. Admission costs $45 per person, and tickets can be purchased here.

Funway, 1335 S. River St. in Batavia

For fun for the whole family, Funway is hosting an assortment of New Year's Eve parties. A family skate party, a bowling party and a late-night party are all options. The Venue, 21 S. Broadway in Aurora

Chicago-based blues artist Joanna Connor will be bringing The Venue guests into the new year with a performance starting at 10 p.m. and a champagne toast at midnight.

The New Year's Eve event kicks off The Venue's monthly Burgers, Blues and Brews event. Concert-goers can grab grub from Gillerson's Grubbery Food Truck, order a drink and get ready for an evening of blues.

Doors will open at 8 p.m., and proof of vaccination is required for entry. Tickets — between $20-22 in advance — can be purchased here.

Ballydoyle Pub, 28 W. New York St. in Aurora

Naperville-based rock outfit This End Up will be performing on the last day of the year. The show starts at 9 p.m. and doors open at 7 p.m., but guests are encouraged to come early for cocktails and appetizers at the pub, which opens in the afternoon. Party favors, decorations, a champagne toast and a late-night breakfast buffet are included in the cost of a ticket.
