Genshin Impact 3.2: New Scaramouche weekly boss; Nahida, Layla on banners
Things are heating up in Sumeru, as Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse as unveiled all the content coming in the game's upcoming update, version 3.2, in the preview livestream on Sunday (23 October).
Genshin Impact version 3.2, titled “Akasha Pulses, The Kalpa Flame Rises”, will be released on 2 November and will see the arrival of two new characters, Sumeru's new weekly boss, weapons, events, and more!
The two new characters that will make their debut in the upcoming version are 5-star Dendro catalyst user Nahida, also known as the Dendro Archon Lesser Lord Kusanali, and the 4-star Cryo Sword user Layla.
Yoimiya, Yae Miko, and Tartaglia will also have their reruns in version 3.2

Nahida and Layla debut while Yoimiya, Yae Miko, Tartaglia return
After being introduced in the version 3.0 Sumeru Archon Quest and being drip-marketed before the release of version 3.1, the Dendro Archon will finally be gracing the game's roster with her presence as a 5-star Dendro catalyst user.
Lesser Lord Kusanali, better known as Nahida to the Traveler, will be the game's fourth playable Archon.
Abandoned by her people, Nahida has yet to step foot in the outside world, as she is locked away by the sages of the Akademiya in the Sanctuary of Surasthana. Nevertheless, Nahida strives to be an Archon who is worthy of her people.
Layla, on the other hand, is a scholar who is studying theoretical astrology. She’s a bit of a narcoleptic, but when she starts sleepwalking she finds that her mounds of work will be finished by the time she wakes up.
Nahida will make her debut alongside Yoimiya in the first half of version 3.2, while Layla will enjoy a drop-rate boost in the dual rerun banners for Yae Miko and Tartaglia in the version's second half.
Nahida - Physic of Purity
Out of all the Genshin Impact characters released so far, Nahida seems to have the most unique kit.
Her skill, which mimics a viewfinder, allows her to mark, link, and deal additional Dendro damage to her enemies. This skill can also be used in the overworld to gather materials like plants and flowers from a distance.
Players can also try it out on NPCs, although we’ll have to wait for her to come home to our accounts before knowing the result.
Her burst allows her to cast a Court of Dreams with a massive area-of-effect, so far one of the biggest in-game. Her burst works to buff her and other aspects of her kit depending on the other elements present in your team.
Layla - Fantastical Evening Star
Just like how she finds that she can finish all of her work while sleepwalking, Layla also becomes a very formidable fighter while dreaming.
She works as a Cryo shielder who can also deal off-field damage with both her skill and burst.
Her skill creates a Cryo shield that can protect her and her teammates against enemy attacks, as well as create Night Stars that can home in on enemies to deal DMG. The more Night Stars you accumulate, the stronger Layla’s shield gets.
Layla's burst lets her summon a Dream Sphere that fires Starlight Slugs on opponents in an wide area. The Sphere also creates Night stars for Layla’s shield.
Along with two new characters, a new 5-star Catalyst for Nahida called “A Thousand Floating Dreams”, will also be added to the game.
Scaramouche will be Sumeru's first weekly boss
We found out during Chapters III and IV of the Sumeru Archon Quest that Scaramouche has teamed up with Il Dottore and the Sumeru Akademiya Sages to become a god.
And now that it’s confirmed that we’re finally going to face him, Scaramouche’s god form is a monstrous piece of work that’s equal parts awe-inducing and terrifying.
The version 3.2 update preview showed snippets of the battle against Scaramouche, whose god form is an enormous puppet mecha who can deal damage using Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, Anemo and Electro attacks in huge swathes of the arena we'll be fighting him in.
He also features two phases: one with just the upper half of his mech while the other featuring the entirety of his massive form.
Travelers will surely have the battle of a lifetime once they’ve come to face Scaramouche’s ultimate form!
Aside from a new weekly boss, Genshin Impact version 3.2 also adds a new world boss as the source for Nahida’s ascension materials: the Dendro Hypostasis.
The addition of this new boss also completes the Hypostasis family now that all elements in the game have its own corresponding member.
Sumeru Archon Quest Act III Chapter V: Sumeru’s Future
With the Traveler teaming up with Cyno, Alhaitham, Dehya, and Candace to save Nahida from the Akademiya and Il Dottore, Sumeru's storyline leads to a thrilling climax which will see us finally facing off with Scaramouche’s god form shown above.
Il Dottore’s manipulative tactics may have allowed him to keep the Grand Sages on a tight leash, but the gang will surely find a way to release the Nation of Wisdom from his evil clutches.
Along with the Eremites who’ve awakened to the truth about their god King Deshret and Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, the Traveler will have all the help they can get. But will that be enough?
We’ll also finally find out the meaning behind Rukkhadevata’s last words: “World… forget me.”
We’re sure to see a whole new Sumeru by the end of the Archon Quest!
Events and System Updates!
Genshin Impact version 3.2 will feature a main event where Layla will also participate in: Fabulous Fungus Frenzy! This event will have us capture and train Fungi to battle in a no hold barred Beast Tamer Tournament!
Players can expect to get 4-Star Electro Claymore Dori for free, as well as Primogems, Character Ascension Materials, Talent Ascension Materials, Crown of Insight, and more!
Other events running in version 3.2 include:
Adventurer’s Trials - Branch Master Cyrus of the Adventurer’s Guild has prepared a variety of training regimens, and you’re going to be his prized Tester. Participate to earn Primogems, Mora, Talent, Weapon, Character Enhancement materials, and more!
Hypostatic Symphony: Dissonant Verses - We’re going to be facing off the Hypostases in an unknown domain! Challenge them and their attendants and you will be richly rewarded with Primogems, Mora, and more!
The Serenitea Pot will also get an upgrade! Once version 3.2 drops, players will have access to the “Replication” system. Players can now replicate other Serenitea pot builds, or make their own layouts available to other Travellers.
New languages will also be added to the game, that being Turkish and Italian.
Genshin Impact is currently in version 3.1, which will run until 1 November and features the release of Sumeru’s Desert Area, new characters, and new content.
Genshin Impact versions 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2 will have shortened run times of five weeks instead of the usual six weeks, likely to catch up to the game's original release schedule after the release of version 2.7 was delayed back in April
