Life didn’t go according to script for George Clooney.

The actor reflected on seeing the sonogram and learning his wife, Amal Clooney, was pregnant with twins during a new episode of Marc Maron’s “WTF” podcast.

“I’m like, ‘Baby boy, fantastic.’ Then they said, ‘And the other one is the girl,’ and I was like, ‘Oh s—t,’” Clooney said on the podcast, which was released Monday.

Clooney said he felt “gobsmacked because I was kind of up for one,” but acknowledged he loves having twins now. Amal’s sister also has twins.

His son, Alexander, and daughter, Ella, are 4 years old.

The 60-year-old Clooney and 43-year-old Amal, a human rights lawyer, have been married since 2014.

“I didn’t want to get married,” Clooney said on the podcast. “I didn’t want to have kids, and then this extraordinary human being walked into my life and I just fell madly in love, and I knew from the minute I met her that everything was gonna be different.”

Clooney won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 2006 for the thriller “Syriana.” He was also a producer on the historical drama “Argo,” which won Best Picture at the Academy Awards in 2013.
