Georgetown to host Water Conservation Expo Saturday

GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) – The City of Georgetown hopes an event this coming Saturday will give people ideas to save water inside and outside their homes.

The city is hosting its second annual Water Conservation Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Friends and Hewlett rooms at the Georgetown Public Library at 402 W. Eighth St.

“We are excited to host the Water Conservation Expo and provide our community with the tools and knowledge to make an impact on water conservation,” said Tiffany Diaz, Georgetown Water Utility Regulatory and Conservation Manager, in a statement to KXAN. “This event is a great opportunity for residents to connect, learn practical tips, and explore conservation solutions from local vendors.”

According to the city, people will hear from experts and see exhibits. They will also have the chance to win door prizes, including a rain barrel.

The city says you should register online to attend. The first 20 people to register for the expo will receive a complimentary at-home water conservation kit.
