But the man said he had gone in his room and locked his door due to Ingram's behavior. Later he said he was awakened by a "growl-like" sound and screaming. He walked out of his room and saw the family member bloody and unresponsive in the living room, the release stated.

He went to call 911 but Ingram said "no," the affidavit stated. While trying to call 911, the man began to struggle with Ingram. The man bit Ingram's arm to try to get away and after they exchanged strikes, he was able to flee the house, the affidavit stated.

When deputies responded to the family member's house they saw Ingram standing near a man who appeared to be severely injured or dead, the release stated. There was a large amount of blood on and around the man, the affidavit stated. Ingram was standing next to a blunt object that appeared to have been used in the attack, the release stated.

Ingram exited the house when ordered by deputies but then he refused to comply further, the release stated. Ingram physically resisted arrest and deputies used their Taser to subdue him and detain him so fire rescue could enter the house to treat the other man, the release stated.

Ingram was handcuffed with his arms behind his back but managed to slip his handcuffed-arms to the front of his body and then struggled with deputies as he tried to escape, the affidavit stated.

Ingram bit a detective on the arm and chest with the bite on the chest breaking the skin, the affidavit stated. Ingram continued to resist and try to bite law enforcement officers while telling them "I will kill you," the affidavit stated.

Deputies struck and used a Taser on Ingram to subdue him, the affidavit stated.

"It was quite the struggle," said Staly, adding that Ingram was described as having "Herculean strength."

One Major Case Detective was treated at Advent Health Palm Coast for non-life threatening injuries and treated and released and is expected to make a full recovery, the press release stated.

Ingram, who is listed as 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds on the affidavit, was also taken to the hospital to be medically cleared before being transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Center Facility.

"The original crime scene reflected a very violent and brutal attack, Staly said. "We are working diligently to find answers as to what caused this tragic attack on family members early this morning. Our condolences to the family and all involved in this case."
