Georgia Bulldogs’ return to national championship game puts local design firm’s work in spotlight

Tim Rebich, agency partner at Charlotte branding firm VPCo., has a theory about the secret ingredient for some recent college sports champions, including Georgia, the reigning national champs in football set to defend the title tonight against TCU.

“I’m not sayin’ it, but I’m sayin’ it,” Rebich told CBJ. “There’s a reason. If you work with the best in the game — like us — you’re just gonna get there.”

The “us,” of course, is VPCo., a boutique firm that specializes in branding, design, and corporate sponsorships.

VPCo.’s client roster has included Georgia Bulldogs football since 2017, spanning most of the coaching era of Kirby Smart, who has challenged — and perhaps usurped — his former boss Nick Saban and Alabama as the sport’s most dominant program.

VPCo. was hired to help bring a sense of history to Georgia’s historic home field: Sanford Stadium, which opened in 1929. The result has been an ongoing series of paintings and graphics added throughout the stadium, on concourses and elsewhere, bringing to life the great moments and players of Bulldogs football.
