Georgia deputies looking for driver accused of killing 88-year-old woman in hit-and-run
Georgia state troopers and deputies are searching for a truck driver they say killed a 88-year-old woman in Catoosa County.
The crash happened Sunday afternoon over the Memorial Day weekend.

Officials identified the victim as Dorothy Yates of Ringgold, Georgia. Family members said on social media that Yates died on her way to a family cookout.
Georgia State Patrol and the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department responded to the crash on Mount Pisgah Road near Trinity Lane around 3:20 p.m.
According to the crash report, a white truck with a spreader bed hit Yates’ 2007 Ford Taurus on the driver’s side. The crash pushed Yates off the road and into a ditch.

Troopers said the truck driver took off. Yates was taken to hospital in critical condition. She died less than two hours later from her injuries.
GSP released a surveillance photo of the truck involved in the crash. Anyone who recognizes it or witnessed the crash is urged to call GSP SCRT team at 706-624-1484
