Here is Georgia DPH's COVID-19 data for Cherokee County

Nov. 6—Cherokee County saw 119 confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in the seven days ending Friday, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health. Cherokee was averaging 17 new confirmed cases a day Friday.

These numbers are much lower than last week's count due to a significant backlog of COVID-19 cases in Georgia reported Oct. 27, many of which were in Cherokee County.

The week ending Friday included 10 COVID-19 deaths reported in Cherokee County, up from four in the previous 7-day period. Friday, Cherokee was averaging a little over one death per day.

In total, 124,703 Cherokee County residents were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 about 50%, according to state data. At least 55%, or 135,318, had received at least one vaccine dose. Statewide, 50% of residents are fully vaccinated, and nationally that figure is 58.3%, according to Georgia DPH and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

As of Friday, a reported 3,708 COVID-19 vaccines had been administered in Cherokee County in the seven days ending Thursday, per Georgia DPH. The total reported vaccinations in the county was 269,450.

Cherokee County was reporting 294 cases of COVID-19 infections per 100,000 people over the past two weeks. Of those tested for the coronavirus in Cherokee County, an average of 4.2% were testing positive Friday.

Cherokee County Schools reported 30 COVID-19 cases among students, and eight COVID-19 cases among staff, as of Friday. All schools were reporting fewer than 10 active cases. The students numbers are slightly up from the Oct. 29 report, which showed that there were 27 student cases. The staff cases are down from last week's 10 cases.

Reinhardt University reported three students/faculty members were in quarantine due to exposure as of Oct. 22, the most recent report available.

Those interested in getting a COVID-19 vaccine can sign up through the Georgia Department of Public Health and at private providers, including pharmacies.

As of Friday, Cherokee County had a total of 31,628 confirmed coronavirus cases since the pandemic began, according to Georgia DPH. Of those, 1,952 had been hospitalized with the virus and 433 had died.
