Georgia Lottery announces it raised over $1.5 billion for education during fiscal year 2023
The Georgia Lottery Corporation announced today it raised over $1.5 billion for education in fiscal year 2023.
That brings the total transferred to the state treasury’s lottery for education account to more than $26.8 billion since its inception in 1993.
Fiscal Year 2023 marks the eighth consecutive year that the Georgia Lottery has generated more than $1 billion in profits for education.

“The Georgia Lottery’s achievements over the past 30 years have provided opportunities to millions of students and families through the HOPE and Pre-K programs,” said Governor Brian Kemp. “These incredible fiscal year results are yet another example of how beneficial the lottery is in building a skilled, well-educated workforce worthy of the No. 1 state for business.”
Fiscal Year 2023 spanned from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.
During that time scratchers and iLottery sales reached record highs.
According to the Georgia Lottery Corporation, more than 2.1 million students have received Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and more than 2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide voluntary prekindergarten program.
