Georgia man set up kidnapping of 11-year-old Florida girl on Instagram, police say
A Georgia man used Instagram to contact an 11-year-old girl in Florida before kidnapping her Saturday, police said.
Keith Greene, 26, was arrested Saturday night and charged with kidnapping the girl in the Orlando suburb of Apopka.
Police said Greene met the child on Instagram and told her they would start a relationship and “lay low” together for six or seven years, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Greene planned to conceal their relationship as uncle and niece, according to the cops.
An Amber Alert was issued for her on Saturday afternoon. She was found safe in a car with Greene later that day, according to the Sentinel. They were discovered in the Florida panhandle nearly 400 miles northwest of Orlando.
Greene was jailed in the panhandle early Sunday morning. He’s officially charged with kidnapping a child under the age of 13, custody interference and luring or enticing a child and is awaiting transfer to an Orlando-area facility, the Sentinel reported.
