Georgia tractor-trailer driver dies in crash on Interstate 59 in Etowah County

A Pooler, Georgia, man died Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 59 in Etowah County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division.

Kester Bruton, 70, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an ALEA news release, after the 2007 Volvo tractor-trailer he was driving left the interstate near the 188-mile marker, about 5 miles north of Attalla, struck a tree and caught fire.

The crash remains under investigation.
