Georgia woman dies from injuries in DeKalb County motorcycle crash

A Calhoun, Georgia, woman injured Friday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash died Monday from her injuries, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Rita Diana York, 53, sustained serious injuries when the 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle she was a passenger on left the road and overturned on DeKalb County Road 255, near DeKalb County Road 256 about 5 miles south of Fort Payne.

She was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital for treatment, where she died Monday.

The operator of the motorcycle, Jason W. Johns, 47, of Resaca, Georgi was not injured.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
