Georgia WR Kearis Jackson makes NFL decision

Georgia junior receiver Kearis Jackson has announced his decision to forgo a possible NFL draft spot and return to Athens for another season in 2022.

Jackson led all UGA receivers in 2020 and battled injuries in 2021, keeping the Fort Valley, Ga., native from getting healthy enough to contribute like the year prior.

The former four-star recruit, who also receives kicks for the Bulldogs, totaled 16 receptions for 194 yards and 1 TD in Georgia’s national championship season.

UGA is getting much needed talent and leadership back at the receiver position with Jackson’s return.

Former Bulldog Jermaine Burton elected to transfer to Alabama following the national title game, while other Georgia receiver reserves Justin Robinson (Mississippi State) and Jaylen Johnson (ECU) transferred out of Athens as well.

Excluding Burton, the Bulldogs do return their other top-four receivers, including Brock Bowers, Ladd McConkey, Adonai Mitchell and Kenny McIntosh.
