German city gives refuge to 160 Ukrainian children

STORY: Freiburg-based charity Father’s House said their 70-hour-long journey to safety began shortly after the start of Ukraine’s Russian invasion and that 30 adults accompanied the children.

The head of the Ukrainian Father’s House institution, Roman Korniiko in an emotional statement thanked the city of Freiburg and the German people “for saving these children alive.”

According to a local Freiburg newspaper, the children will initially be put up in three refugee sites and a youth hostel where they will be looked after by psychologists, paediatricians and doctors.
