Germantown wing Madison Booker named to USA U17 basketball team

Germantown's Madison Booker is back with USA Basketball.

The senior wing has been named to the 2022 USA Basketball Women's U17 National Team on Wednesday, after team's trials in Colorado Springs. Booker made the 12-player roster out of 40 players..

Booker will join Team USA at the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup in Debrecen, Hungary from July 9-17.

The 2022 Clarion-Ledger girls' baseball first-team selection helped lead the USA team to a gold medal in the 2021 FIBA U16 Americas Championship. Booker started all six games averaging 6.2 points and 6.7 rebounds on 48% shooting during the tournament.

Booker, a five-star recruit, averaged 16.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.1 steals in 28 games for the Mavericks last season. She helped Germantown to a 24-7 record and advanced to the MHSAA Class 6A semifinals.

Booker is the No. 15-ranked recruit in ESPN's HoopGurlz 2023 rankings. She included Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, UCONN, Duke, Louisville, Oregon, and Florida State in her top nine schools in September.
