Details: According to Pistorius, the package will include 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, seven Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled artillery systems, additional guided missiles for the Iris-T anti-aircraft missile system, and another Iris-T unit.

In total, the "spring package" includes the dispatch of military aid worth more than €1 billion, Pistorius said. Thus, the total worth of the military aid provided by Germany will exceed €3.3 billion.

"Germany will not stop and will not give up supporting Ukraine," Pistorius said.

The Minister also reported that Western allies have yet to agree on giving Ukraine Leopard 2 main battle tanks, but he instructed his ministry to inspect tanks’ stockpiles for potential supply.

Background:

  • Mateusz Morawiecki, Polish Prime Minister, hinted that Warsaw could dispatch a company of German-made tanks to Ukraine without Berlin's consent if it waited for the approval for too long.
