Germany extends another aid package to Ukraine

Germany has provided Ukraine with another package of military aid, including tank towing vehicles and artillery shells, according to a press note from the German government on June 21. Additionally, Berlin will allocate EUR 381 million ($417 million) for humanitarian aid.

The military aid package includes two MAN HX81 tank transporters with semi-trailers, 1,000 units of 155mm artillery shells, six border patrol vehicles, and an unspecified quantity of 155mm Vulcano guided artillery shells.

Germany also plans to supply ammunition for the Patriot air defense systems.

Meanwhile, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock pledged an additional EUR 381 million ($417 million) in humanitarian aid for Ukraine in 2023 at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London on June 21.

"Germany will provide an additional 381 million euros in humanitarian aid to Ukraine, covering a broad array of needs, from generators to food and tents for those recently displaced or rendered homeless," she said.

Baerbock added that Germany will also continue its assistance with mine clearance operations in Ukraine.

So far, Germany has provided a total of EUR 16.8 billion ($18.4 billion) in aid to Ukraine, including military assistance.
