Germany's new defense minister says Leopard tank supplies to Ukraine not dependant on Abrams shipments

Pistorius said he wasn’t aware there was any stipulation that there had to be the simultaneous supply of tanks from Germany and the United States.

"I’m pretty sure we’ll get a decision on that in the next few days, but I can’t yet tell you today what it will look like," Pistorius said.

Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised the U.S. President Joe Biden to approve German-made Leopard tanks transfer if the Pentagon sends Abrams tanks to Ukraine, German media reported earlier.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Scholz came under growing pressure from Western allies to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine “without further delay.”
