Geronimo's Books opens in Santa Fe
Sep. 25—After a deal to take over an established bookstore fell apart, the husband-and-wife team of Phil Geronimo and Lauren Ayer have launched a venture of their own.
Geromino's Books opened Sept. 11 at 3018 Cielo Court, Suite D.
The business has an inventory of a few thousand used books, paperback and hardcover, including first editions, Geronimo said.
He is experienced in the book business, having worked at two stores in Santa Fe, op.cit. books among them.
Peggy Frank, owner of Book Mountain, said earlier this year she would retire and give away her store to Ayer and Geronimo. The relationship between Frank and her handpicked successors deteriorated during a test run.
Ayer and Geronimo then decided to open a store of their own. The store's hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
