Getting to the Rochester jazz festival: Where to park, what streets are closed
Getting around the CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival is easy, and there is a lot of parking available nearby.
Where are the best places to park?
Nearby city-owned parking garages (rates vary) include the:
East End Garage at Main and Scio streets.
Midtown Garage, with entrances on South Clinton Avenue or Broad Street.
Washington Square Garage on Woodbury Boulevard.
South Avenue Garage near North Fitzhugh Street.
Sister Cities Garage, also on North Fitzhugh Street.
There is a great deal of metered street parking, which is free after 6 p.m. and on weekends.
Which streets will be closed?
Gibbs Street between East Avenue and East Main Street will be closed for the duration of the festival, June 17-25.
East Avenue and East Main Street between Chestnut and Scio streets will be closed at 5 p.m. every night.
Court Street will be closed between Broad and Chestnut streets June 23-25.
The streets surrounding Parcel 5 will be closed at 3 p.m. every night.
What bus service is available?
There is a freecirculator shuttle running from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. every night. The full circuit takes about 30 minutes. See www.rochesterjazz.com for the stop locations.
All Regional Transit Service buses end at the Transit Center on North Clinton Avenue, a short walk from the festival site. There are also a number of bike rental stations around the East End.
Venues are all wheelchair accessible. People can call (585) 454-2060 in advance if they have questions about specific accommodations.
