Ghosts of Gallatin sequel, haunted tour dates released

Author, “Hauntstorian” and tour guide Allen Sircy returns this fall to lead folks along the popular 90-minute Ghosts of Gallatin Haunted Tour.

Guests may visit a dozen sites around the Gallatin Square – rich in history and hauntings from the likes of former U.S. President Andrew Jackson to the American Civil War era during the 1860s.

A family-friendly event, the tour features the ghostly encounters, history and folklore of Gallatin.

“The tours last October were so much fun,” Sircy said in a previous statement.

“But this year I’ve got a few new wrinkles and even more great stories to share. Whether it’s Rose Mont, Trousdale Place or some of the shops on North Water, people are going to be blown away by some of the unexplainable pictures and videos I share on the tour.”

The tour falls on the heels of his recently released book sequel, Southern Ghost Stories: Ghosts of Gallatin 2.

“Gallatin is such a special place… there are ghost stories everywhere,” Sircy said.

“When I wrote Ghosts of Gallatin in 2019, I thought I had covered all the haunted locations around town, but it was on the tip of the iceberg. Everywhere I went someone would come up to me and tell me something strange about where they lived or worked. After a while I started taking notes. Eventually I had so much material I decided to write another book.”

Revisiting some locations from the first book, Ghosts of Gallatin 2 examines several new hauntings and ghostly encounters around Gallatin.

“There are a lot of new locations like the Barry Cemetery and Stonewall in the sequel, but Rose Mont is also a big part of the book, even though it was featured in the first one,” Sircy said.

“Since 2019, so many weird and odd things have happened in Judge Guild’s home… I just had to document them!”

Southern Ghost Stories: Ghosts of Gallatin 2 can be purchased locally at Pickled Treats and Antiques, Town Creek Chic and Timeless Treasures in Gallatin and online at major retailers like Amazon.

Tours are available each Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night in Oct. beginning in front of the Sumner County Courthouse at 7 p.m. Private tours and storytelling sessions are available as well.

Books and a portion of proceeds will be donated to Trousdale Place.
