GHS Class of 2023's calm nature tested during a stormy graduation ceremony

The Gardner High School graduating class of 2023 are known for being easygoing and during their graduation ceremony the weather put their mellow attitudes to the test.

Rain clouds, strong winds, and 50-degree weather did not stop the 104 Gardner High grads this Saturday, June 3 from walking across the stage. Family members and friends were prepared with towels, raincoats and umbrellas to cheer on their grads from the wet metal bleachers.

Abigail Lemieux, the senior class vice president, welcomed everyone with an opening speech that reflected on her time at Gardner High School. Gardner High's graduation ceremony was on Saturday, June 3.

During Principal Paula Bolger speech to the graduating class, she described the class personality as friendly, calm and full of kindness. She said that during ceremony rehearsal at the school gym it was so quiet even though there were 104 young adults in the room.

Bolger said this year's graduating class is so kind that they asked her for permission to do their senior prank. A group of seniors taped a few orange traffic cones on the roof, and it took the school facilities staff a week to remove them she said.
