Giada de Laurentiis Sells Modern Los Angeles Home for $7 Million

Four months after Giada de Laurentiis purchased a midcentury bungalow in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, the celebrity chef has sold another residence she owned nearby. Her sleek five bedroom, five-and-a-half bathroom home fetched $7 million, reports Mansion Global.

The house was built in 2015, and De Laurentiis purchased it in January 2016 for $6.9 million. It is very modern in style, with a minimalistic two-sided fireplace acting as the centerpiece of the open plan main floor, which is composed of two seating areas, two dining areas, and the kitchen. An entire wall opens to the pool deck, giving the space an indoor-outdoor feeling.

The kitchen is fully outfitted with stainless steel appliances, and features a 24-foot-long stone island. Downstairs in the basement is a game room and a large wine room. Uniquely, some of the windows in the lower level are located inside the swimming pool above.

De Laurentiis's listing agent told Mansion Global that the Giada At Home host added a water filtration system and frosted windows to the property while she lived there. The agent also noted that De Laurentiis made the move because she "wanted to downsize."

The Food Network star's new home is a four bedroom midcentury bungalow with a glass guesthouse on the property. It features a curved dining room and lots of windows and glass walls that, in the living room and family room, look out at the backyard. There is also a pool, spa, and, fittingly for De Laurentiis, a high-end kitchen. She paid $4.86 million for the dwelling.
