Giant swarm of flying ants registers on weather radar above England

Cloudy with a chance of ants.

A dense swarm of flying ants spanning dozens of miles over southeastern England registered on meteorology radars, officials said Friday.

“It’s not raining in London, Kent or Sussex, but our radar says otherwise,” tweeted the Met Office, Britain’s national weather service.

A blue blob materialized above the coast on the weather map.

“During the summer ants can take to the skies in a mass emergence usually on warm, humid and windless days,” the tweet explained.

Friday was hot and sunny in southeastern England, with the mercury climbing into the low 80s.
