The New York Giants are poised for a resurgence in 2021 after a monumental offseason in which they transformed their offense by adding several notable playmakers.

But that resurgence won’t happen unless third-year quarterback Daniel Jones makes a leap in his career which has been like a rollercoaster ride thus far.

Giants records that could be broken in 2021

The Giants are banking on Jones doing just that and in fact are going all-in on Jones this season. Their fortunes will ride or die with him under center.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report cites that the Giants are betting heavily on Jones, and they haven’t even entertained the idea of presenting another challenger for the starting job.

There will be no quarterback controversy for the New York Giants this season. Though he’s coming off a disappointing second campaign with an 11-10 touchdown-to-interception ratio and a passer rating of 80.4, Daniel Jones is the starter. The Giants are doing everything they can to support him.

They brought in pass-catchers Kenny Golladay and Kyle Rudolph in free agency and then used a first-round pick on speedy gadget receiver Kadarius Toney (4.39 40-yard dash). With running back Saquon Barkley expected to be back from last year’s ACL tear, Jones should have the supporting cast needed to succeed.

New York didn’t bring in quarterback competition in the offseason—Mike Glennon shouldn’t threaten Jones’ job—so this season will be all about proving that Jones is the long-term answer. If he cannot succeed with a revamped offensive roster, though, the Giants may have to start weighing other options.

Correct. Jones has been maturing in all ways a young man can mature. He’s physically bigger, another year smarter and is gaining confidence. If he just cuts down on the turnovers, it could equate to three more wins for Big Blue.

That would mean a nine-win season in 2021, up from a 6-10 campaign last year. The Giants will take that. In fact, they’re expecting it.
