Will the New York Giants be trading for a quarterback this offseason? It’s highly unlikely after head coach Joe Judge firmly committed to Daniel Jones, but not impossible.

General manager Dave Gettleman can be unpredictable at times, so with Deshaun Watson and Matthew Stafford both potentially on the move in the coming months, Vegas oddsmakers aren’t sold that the Giants will sit this one out.

On Monday, BetOnline released odds on the potential destinations for both Watson and Stafford, and the Giants checked in at 28/1 and 35/1, respectively.

The New York Jets are considered favorites to land Watson at 15/4, while the Indianapolis Colts are considered favorites to land Stafford at 3/1.

It’s interesting to see the Jets draw such favorable odds not because they need a quarterback, but because critics of the Giants and Gettleman were absolutely certain a mistake was made by passing on Sam Darnold. So much for that theory.

Ultimately, do not expect the Giants to be serious players for either Watson or Stafford. However, it would be foolish if Gettleman didn’t at least put a call in to see what the asking price is on both. It’s undoubtedly more than the talent-starved Giants can afford right now, but who knows… Anything is possible with Gettleman calling the shots.
