Giants vs. Cowboys Player of the Game: Lorenzo Carter

The medium Pepsi given to fans of the New York Giants as “fan appreciation” represents how the Giants’ offense played on Sunday: A slap in the face. A slap in the face to fans who actually attended the game — those forced to watch an embarrassing 21-6 loss surrounded by Dallas Cowboys fans.

In a game that nobody wants to remember, one player actually stood out a bit — and it’s been a while since we called his name for doing something well.

Coming into the game, Lorenzo Carter had zero sacks for the Giants. On Sunday, he recorded two of them, one of which was a strip sack.

Here was his Carter’s sack of the season. A sack that took 15 weeks to get to.

Carter finished the game with four tackles (two solo, two for a loss), three QB hits, 2.0 sacks and a forced fumble.

While Carter hasn’t exactly had a memorable season and it took him 14 games to get a sack, this was by far his best game of the season and perhaps, his career with the Giants.

And yet, like the medium Pepsi the Giants gave out to the fans, it was all wasted in a mediocre effort from the rest of the team.
