Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik celebrated their daughter Khai’s first birthday yesterday in New York City, and the couple let their family share a glimpse of the balloon-filled festivities. Gigi’s sister Alana posted very rare shots of Zayn, Khai, and Gigi together at the party, along with the impressive balloon arrangement their parents had set up. Bella shared a shot of her and Khai too on her own Story, along with their brother Anwar Hadid’s girlfriend Dua Lipa:

In addition to her Instagram Story, Bella also devoted a grid post to Khai, sharing never-before-seen photos of Khai and her aunt. Bella captioned the tribute, “Happy Birthday to the greatest gift our family has ever been blessed with…. I didn’t know my heart could grow this big!!!!You make me smile when I’m sad and make me cry of happiness just because ur alive. I can’t wait to watch you grow into the most perfect specimen of all @gigihadid @zayn thank you for my forever best friend ❤️🔥”

Gigi, Zayn, and their families have made a point to keep Khai’s face hidden in photos to protect her privacy. Gigi wrote in an open letter to photographers, press, and fans in July that “our wish is that she can choose how to share herself with the world when she comes of age, and that she can live as normal of a childhood as possible, without worrying about a public image that she has not chosen.”
