Gignilliat to headline Spring Bible Conference at Union University

Mark Gignilliat, professor of divinity at Beeson Divinity School, will be the plenary speaker at Union University’s 2023 Spring Bible Conference March 17-18.

The conference is entitled “The Smoke of our Existence: Ecclesiastes for Christians” and will be held in Union’s Carl Grant Events Center.

Gignilliat has taught Hebrew, Old Testament exegesis and Old Testament theology at Beeson Divinity School for the past two decades. He most recently published “Reading Scripture Canonically: Theological Instincts for Old Testament Interpretation” and a commentary on the book of Micah.

The conference is sponsored by Union’s R.C. Ryan Center for Biblical Studies and is aimed at helping people understand and apply the Bible. In addition to Gignilliat, four other Union faculty members will lead breakout sessions — Brad Green, Mark Catlin, Matthew Albanese and Hal Poe.

The conference cost is $40 per person before March 6, when the cost will increase to $60. The price includes the sessions, two meals and a continental breakfast. More information and online registration are available at uu.edu/centers/biblical/bible-conference/2023/.
