Gilroy Coronavirus Trailers Removed: Report
GILROY, CA — About 20 trailers intended to house coronavirus patients were removed from downtown, The Gilroy Dispatch reports.
The trailers were intended to be used for coronavirus patients or homeless people who were unable to quarantine, but they were no longer needed after the county secured more than 700 hotel rooms, the report said.
The trailers were seen in early July at a vacant county-owned industrial yard at the corner of Eighth and Alexander streets, the report said.
“County administration intends to use them in the near future for Covid-19 isolation and quarantine and for vulnerable individuals,” county officials said in a statement, according to the report.
“After the pandemic, the trailers would be used to support homeless individuals and families.”
