Gimme him: One player Titans would steal from the Jaguars

Touted as possibly the best lockdown cover corner coming out of college in 2020, Jacksonville Jaguars rookie cornerback C.J. Henderson looks as advertised.

Selecting Henderson out of the University of Florida at No. 9 overall in this year’s NFL Draft was a steal for the Jaguars. And, for a team that historically does not draft well, the Jaguars might have a knack for scouting corners — see: Jalen Ramsey.

Per Pro Football Focus, Henderson turned in the second-highest grade (84.2) among rookies in Week 1, just behind Washington Football Team’s defensive end, Chase Young. Henderson also managed to force four incompletions during the Jaguars’ win over with the Indianapolis Colts, more than any other player in the NFL.

So, why would the Tennessee Titans be interested?

Well, he’d come in handy right now with starting cornerback Adoree’ Jackson on injured reserve. But, more than that, Henderson would pair perfectly with Jackson on the outside for years to come.

Veteran Malcolm Butler, who could become a cap casualty in 2021, still has some gas left in the tank, but as a prospect, Henderson would make this Titans secondary even more elite.

On Sunday, Henderson will likely shadow wide receiver A.J. Brown, who was relatively quiet in Denver. While Brown should get the better of the rookie, it could prove a tougher matchup than expected.
